Prevent Ants From Getting Back Into Your Home After Using Combat
In 1942 General Douglas MacArthur escaped from the Philippines in a PT boat. MacArthur survived two days sailing through enemy territory before giving his famous speech in which he declared “I shall return.” MacArthur knew a lot about combat and Combat knows a lot about stopping ants from returning.
Combat bait stations are designed to banish ants from your home. But there are something like fifty ants in every square yard of earth and a mind-blowing one quadrillion ants roaming the earth. That means ants, like MacArthur, shall return. That is, unless you take special care to prevent them from getting back into your home.
About a week after you have used Combat Ant Killing Bait Strips, Source Kill Max Ant Bait, or Source Kill Max Ant Killing Gel ants from the invading colony will be dead. Then, it’s time to be proactive. Take a walk around the perimeter of your home and remove ant attractants like piles of moist mulch, rotting firewood, and dead leaves.
Get out the caulk gun and seal the cracks around the foundation where ants can easily slip into your home. Check the entry points for cable and electric wires, pipes, and so on. Fix leaky faucets and pipes which attract water-loving ants. This will also help you save money on your water bill. If you’re saving aluminum cans, food jars, and newspapers get them to the recycling center. These items attract ants—and cockroaches too.
The best way to avoid future ant problems is by keeping the kitchen as spotless as possible. A drop of fruit juice on the floor, cake crumbs under the microwave, and grains of sugar in the back of the cupboard all attract ants. Wipe off sticky jelly jars and place open bags of sugar, cookies, cereal, and the like in air-tight plastic containers. These steps will keep the ants out of your home. After using Combat you can proudly declare to the enemy, “You shall not return.”
