Keep Ants Out of Your House With A Good Cleaning

OK, so you found a long line of ants trekking across your kitchen counters and you did the right thing—you placed ant-killing bait stations under the sink, next to the garbage can, and in the back of the cupboard. Doubtlessly, the bait stations will work their magic. The ants will take the tainted food back to their colony and it will kill off the queen and her six-legged subjects. But wait, there’s still more to do.

Killing off a single ant colony will end your immediate problems but there are billions of other ants nearby and they’re getting ready for a home invasion. After the ants have vanished, you’ll want to keep ants out of your home so you need to clean with a good product like Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleaner. Here’s why: Those ants you saw in your house, were following a scent trail laid down by scouts who left the colony and made their way into your kitchen. The bleach in the cleaner will wipe away those invisible scent trails for good. Soft Scrub can be used on countertops, linoleum and tile floors, and anywhere else ants might be traveling.

After cleaning the counters, it’s time to tackle the tough dirt. Carefully pull the stove away from the wall. Vacuum up the crumbs and other food gunk underneath. Spray the cleaner on the sides of the stove, on the stovetop, and anywhere that ant-attracting grease can be found. A tiny blob of oil will attract ant scouts so be sure to get the stove nice and shiny. Clean the microwave, toaster, and other appliances, checking beneath them for crumbs.

Now it’s time to tackle the trash. Spray clean garbage cans with something like Soft Scrub®, inside and out, and in the area around the trash can. The cleaner will not only wipe away ant food but will also kill bacteria, germs, and mold. Now the kitchen is clean and shiny, looks good, smells good, and feels good – unless you’re an ant that is!
